Johnny Ringo Days
The Outlaw Johnny Ringo was born May 3, 1850 in Greens Fork,
Indiana. Greens Fork is located in Wayne County.
Thanks to everyone who helped with Johnny Ringo Days. The
DGC car club, the Great Lakes Freight and Mining Co, The
Historical Society, Fire Station, The White Water Valley Motor
Cycle Club and numerous volunteers from the town of Greens
Fork.
The weather was not perfect this year. However, the ride was
perfect. We stayed behind the rain most of the ride. If you
stayed home due to the weather, you had better wear a skirt next
year. The local bikers should be ashamed, we had bikers from
Merriville, Fort Wayne, and Lafayette, Indiana participated.
We had a great time, and just think, next year will be the 5th
anniversary.

Johnny Ringo.
Johnny Ringo was a cowboy during the glory years of the old
west.
In the 1870's Johnny was part of the Mason County cattle wars.
He was part of the Scott Cooley faction of outlaw cattlemen.
Moses Baird was killed, Ringo and another man tracked the killer
and killed him. Johnny was tracked by the Texas Rangers and
local lawmen. By this time, his reputation grew so big, that he
was known as one of the most desperate men in Texas.
After 2 years he was cleared of charges. He even ran for
Constable of Llano County. He won the election and held the
post for 1 year.
Johnny then headed for Arizona territory. There was a saloon
altercation that left 2 men dead. Johnny then headed for
Tombstone, Arizona, where he hooked up with the Clanton gang,
Sheriff John Behan, and Wyatt Earp and his brothers.
Johnny's Tombstone Epitaph reads:
"He was recognized by friends and foes as a recklessly
brave man, who would go any distance, or undergo any hardship
to serve a friend or punish an enemy."
